Shimmer Katherine and Marilyn

I received a wonderful package from Cindy, the creator of Shimmer polish, filled with some of her incredible glittery creations. I could barely contain my excitement as I unwrapped each glitter bomb. To give these beauties the attention that they deserve, I will be showing them a few at a time rather than going into glitter overload in one or two posts. So, stay tuned for lots of glitter over the coming few weeks. Today I have for you the beautiful Katherine and Marilyn...

Katherine
A mix of small copper, brown and orange glitter in a clear base. The glitter is densely packed allowing it to be built up for full coverage. It applies very well with even glitter distribution. No clumping or bunching. Two to three coats is enough to cover up the nail line. I used three coats plus a top coat over bare nails in these swatches. It makes me think of pumpkin spice...

Closeup of all the lovely glitter. Everything meshes so well together...

Katherine (over OPI Die Another Day)
Since Katherine had me thinking of pumpkin spice, I wanted to try it over a nice burnt orange color. It really brings out the copper color of the polish. This is just one coat of Katherine over the base of OPI Die Another Day...

Marilyn
A cranberry red jelly base with small red and black glitter. This is the first Shimmer polish that I have tried which has a tinted base and I love it. The tinted base gives this polish a wonderful depth as it is layered. The red shimmer is very sparkly and attention grabbing, but it is the dark glitter that really fascinates me. In the bottle it goes unnoticed but really makes a statement on the nail and makes this polish unique. This is three coats plus a top coat...

  1. Your swatches are always so perfect Anutka! Thank you.
I prefer the red shade, the other one would look too dull on me.
